HOW TO IMPORT FRESH FRUIT INTO VIETNAM

a. Having a phytosanitary certificate issued by a competent phytosanitary agency of the exporting country or a certificate of equivalent validity.

b. There are no regulated pests in the following categories: List of regulated pests; List of objects subject to phytosanitary and objects subject to a pest risk analysis before being imported into Vietnam. If there are pests, they must be thoroughly treated.

c. An import phytosanitary license is required.

d. Imported wooden packaging materials must be treated with phytosanitary measures according to regulations.

Procedures for granting an import phytosanitary license are specified in Decision No. 48/2007/QD-BNN, dated May 29, 2007, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

• Regulated pest detection: 60 days
